How PB Nepal handles reader data, what we collect when you write to us, and how you can reach the person responsible for privacy requests.

When you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, and whatever you write in the message field. If you call the desk, we note your phone number and the subject of the call. Our hosting provider also logs standard technical data: IP address, browser type, device, referring page, and the time of the request.
Reader messages are stored so we can answer questions about gear notes, teahouse write-ups, and route corrections. Technical logs help us spot broken pages and abuse. We do not build reader profiles, and we do not sell or rent any of this information to third parties.
The site uses a small number of cookies for basic functionality and aggregate traffic measurement. Analytics data is read in summary form only, never tied to a named reader. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the review archive stays readable either way.
Limited data passes to the services that keep the desk running: our web host, our email provider, and the analytics tool. Each one processes information on our instructions. We do not pass reader details to advertisers, and we have no sponsored placements to feed.
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete it. You can also withdraw consent for analytics at any time. Readers in the EU and UK have these rights under the GDPR, and California readers under the CCPA. We answer requests within thirty days.
Contact messages are kept for two years, then deleted. Server logs roll off after ninety days. We publish no fake endorsements, no invented urgency, and no claims of official affiliation with trekking agencies or gear brands. If a note is wrong, we log the correction and the date it changed.
Write to the desk with the subject line "Privacy request" and we will route it to the editor who handles data questions.
